Visit to Barnados Supported Accomodation(January 15, 2016)
Mark was invited by staff and management at Barnado's to visit their Supported Accomodation for Young People.
Mark was met by Sian Davis, Children's Service Manager and Paul Wilcox, Assistant Director at Barnado's to discuss the services on offer at the 'Preston City Foyer'. The Foyer supports young people to develop their independent living skills to prepare them for their own tenancy after they leave. The Assured Shorthold tenancies are typically six months or longer.

The Preston Foyer is a sixteen bed accomodation unit for single people aged 16-25 and who may be homeless or in housing need. In addition to the accomodation on offer, tenants are also allocated project workers who can assist with obtaining additional help and support. The Preston City Foyer does not exclude people who may have experiened difficult circumstances before they move in and offers support and assistance for vulnerable young people during their tenancy.
