Mark announces new surgery venue at Savick Library(May 15, 2014)
Mark has announced that his latest surgery will take place in a new venue at Savick Library. It will take place on Saturday 17th May 2014 at Savick Library, on West Park Avenue off Blackpool Road.
The surgeries take place in various locations around Preston and run from 11am -1pm, on a first come first served basis. The MP typically meets with around eight to twelve individuals to discuss their issues during a private consultation. Concerns raised vary from personal issues with housing, benefits, child support, immigration, anti-social behaviour, to more generalised policy issues relating to central government such as the economy, animal rights, foreign aid and environmental concerns.
Constituents contact Mark in a variety of ways including by letter and e-mails. He receives over 40 individual pieces of correspondence each week in addition to the case work generated from holding bi-monthly surgeries.
Mark said: “I previously held my surgery at the Larches & Savick Community Link which unfortunately closed down last year. It was important to maintain a surgery venue in the western part of Preston and I am delighted that we were able to find a suitable venue in the Larches and Savick area.”
