Visit to CRAB

(June 19, 2012)

Mark recently visited CRAB (Community, Residents and Business) neighborhood team on Meadow Street with Shadow Police Minister David Hanson MP and Labours Police Crime Commissioner Candidate Clive Grunshaw.

They were shown around the Catherine Beckett centre and Meadow Street by local resident Robin Maudsley who has successfully campaigned for CCTV cameras to be installed on the street which has led to a 75% reduction in crime and rewarded with a national award.

Mark said "The work at CRAB is simply outstanding. Robin, his wife Pat and their army of volunteers have succeeded in bringing the community and local businesses together to fight crime and make the area better for everyone."
