(April 20, 2012)

Mark was the keynote speaker at the 2012 defence and manufacturing North West conference in Liverpool on Friday.

The conference was organised by the union Unite and defence companies in the North West. The conference brought together industry experts, trade unions and workers to discuss the future of defence manufacturing and what progress could be made in bringing more contracts to the North West.

Mark spoke on recent developments at BAE Systems with particular focus on the collapse of a deal with the Indian Government after French defence firm Dassault was named as the preferred bidding partner at the expense of BAE Systems.

Mark said “It was a great honour to be the key note speaker. Events like these are important in bringing together all the relevant stakeholders to discuss ideas and strategy for the future of the defence industry”
