Huge response to Drop the Bill

(February 24, 2012)

Mark's office has been inundated with letters of support regarding the Labour Party's Opposition Day debate demanding that the Government release the Health risk register and for the Government to Drop the Health and Social Care Bill.

It is the largest number of correspondence the office has received from constituents on a single issue in recent years.

Mark said "The people of Preston are sending the Government a clear message they do not want this reorganisation of the NHS. David Cameron promised the end of “top down” reorganisation yet is embarking on the single biggest reorganisation of the NHS since it was created.

The NHS is a national treasure and the people of Preston will not forgive him for this reckless re organisation. This bill is not supported by health professionals nor the public. The Government should drop the bill. "
