Mark tables EDM on Anti-Slavery

Mark tabled Early Day Motion 2257 in the House of Commons this week to mark the UK’s Anti-Slavery Day, which was on Tuesday, 18th October. Despite being outlawed in the British Empire over 200 years ago, the United Nations estimate that at least 12 million people are the world are slaves – including thousands in Britain. The Motion, co-sponsored by the Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee Keith Vaz MP, calls on the government to take a more pro-active approach to tackling slavery and human trafficking both in the UK and abroad.
