Visit to Eldon Primary School

(September 01, 2018)

Earlier this year, I met with Azra Butt, Headteacher at Eldon Primary School at a Parliamentary Reception.  I was delighted to learn, a month later that the school won the coveted Times Educational Supplement (TES) School of the Year Award

Since then, Ms Butt invited me to visit the school to meet with staff and pupils.  While I was there, I was invited to unveil two mosaic murals (pictured above) before being interviewed by pupils for their in-house radio show. We covered topical issues, my career as an MP and work that I am doing at the moment.  This was followed by a whole school assembly during which pupils performed music, dance and poetry recitals.

Radio Interview I am very proud that this 'Outstanding' School in my constituency is being recognised at both local and national levels.  The school also has National 'Flagship' status for Inclusion.
