Mental Health Awareness Week
(May 14, 2018)Mental Health Awareness Week ran from 14-20 May with a focus on stress, which is a key factor in mental health problems.
The Mental Health Foundation hosts the week to highlight mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, self harm and suicide. There is a useful guide on how to manage and reduce stress on their website.
I tabled a Parliamentary Question to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care asking what activities he has taken part in to highlight in Mental Health Awareness Week. I am encouraged by the response which states that NHS England announced a package of £25 million funding to support local suicide prevention plans.
