Windrush

(May 31, 2018)

You may have heard in the national and local news recently about people from the Windrush generation. They include Caribbean and other Commonwealth citizens and their families who settled in the UK between 1948 and 1973 whose Home Office records were destroyed recently making it difficult to prove their rightful immigration status. In extreme cases, this may have resulted in people being wrongly deported, losing their jobs and being denied medical treatment.

If you, or anyone you know lives in the Preston constituency and is worried or affected by this, please contact my office by phoning 01772 883575 or emailing me at mark.hendrick.mp@parliament.uk and I will be able to make representations to the UK Visas & Immigration Team (UKVI) at the Home office to try and resolve the issue.
