Enter 'Film the House' Competition

Local creators are invited to enter Parliament's prestigious 'Film the House' competition.  This annual competition offers the opportunity to put local filmmakers in direct contact with the movers and shakers of the film industry and to have the best UK talent take front and centre stage.

Entries will be judged initially by me, or their own local constituency MP if they live outside Preston. MPs recommendations are then put forward for a further round of judging by industry professionals, with prizes provided by the industry sponsors, which in 2017 including mentoring from professionals in the film industry, a private screening of the winners' film for friends and family and classification of the winning films by BBFC.

t the UK has to offer, while raising awareness about the importance of Intellectual Property (IP) to our creative industries.
The categories for the 2018 competition are:

  • Best Short Film (under 16)
  • Best Short Film (16 and over)
  • Best Script (under 16)
  • Best Script (16 and over)

The closing date for entries is 30th September 2018, with the shortlist being announcing early next and the winners announced at an Awards Ceremony in the House of Commons on 2nd April 2019.
